  • Relocation out of Asheville

Good morning everyone! I am happy to announce that Clyde has been discharged from Asheville into a rehab facility in Charlotte. Thank you so much for your prayers and support.

About this fundraiser

My father, Clyde Blount, is a dedicated track and field official who has continued to pursue his passion for the sport even after officially retiring. He regularly travels throughout North Carolina, as well as to South Carolina and Virginia, to officiate meets.

On Wednesday, May 14th, while working an event at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, he was involved in a life-altering car accident in Asheville, NC. He is currently receiving excellent care at Mission Hospital and will remain there until he is stable enough to be transferred closer to home in the Triad area.

The outpouring of support from our community has been truly overwhelming, and we are deeply grateful. At this time, our family is traveling back and forth to Asheville to be by his side and support him through recovery. My dad is also the primary caregiver for my mom, so this situation has impacted us on many levels.

Any support you are able to offer will be deeply appreciated and used with care. We will continue to share updates as we navigate this journey, and please know that your prayers and kind words have brought us tremendous comfort.

With sincere gratitude,

-Julia, William and Ashley
