About this fundraiser

My daughter was 13 years old when she passed away on June 21, 2023. Kennise Semaj Jones was born on July 15, 2009 to Denise Justice and the Late Demetri Jones. Kennise gained her wings and God welcomed her into Heavens gate on June 21, 2023. Kennise was surrounded by so many loved ones at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Kennise loved anime cartoons where she developed ideas which lead her to draw. Kennise loved to draw and sketch several paintings for many people when she had free time. Kennise loved going to the movies and to get her nails and toes done. Kemlise loved going out to restaurants and talking on the phone with her friends all the time. Kennise went to Bethel AME Church and kept going consistently for some time, where she later joined and got baptized by the help of her Uncle Cory. Kennise had a strong love and desire for seafood and would watch her Grandma Valerie cook all the time. Kennise also cooked with her Grandma Anita as well. She started cooking some of her favorite foods; like salmon, shrimp, alfredo and brussel sprouts with some help from YouTube at the age of 8. Kennise also had a passion for different types of pets; dogs, cats, ferrets and lizards just to name a few. Kennise's dream job was to be a Veterinarian when she grew up.

Kennise had an inseparable bond with her Mother Denise, they was like two peas in a pod. They had a strong tight bond that could not be broken between a mother and a daughter. They had a relationship lilze no other, the bond they shared was together for 13 years. Kennise was Denise's Sweet Pea, Bunny Face or Tinker Bell which Denise called her. They both loved each other no matter what. Kennise also had a special bond with her Grandmother, Valerie whom to Kennise she called her Mama. Valerie and Kennise had a caring and nurturing relationship. Her late Dad, Demetri Jones instilled in her a love for designer sneakers and hats. They loved each other so much and after the passing of Kennise's father the late Demetri Jones in 2014, both her Uncles Cory and DaJuan stepped up and played the role of a father figure. Kennise had a special name for them both, Big Cory and Uncle Juan. Kennise shared plenty of conversations with them. Kennise also loved her Grandmother Anita dearly, whom she called her Grandma Nita. They both loved each other lilze no other. Kennise loved the conversations they would have over the phone and in person. Both of them use to Sing (Beyonce's) All the Single Ladies a few years back. Kennise also had a few young friends that she was with at an earlier age; Peyton, Tylia, Kymani, cousin Khori and cousinJaylin. Kennise loved going to school and developed several friendships from elementary to middle school. She also loved to sit on Sis. Cook porch in the summer time and play with her grandkids. Although, Kennise developed an illness in 2022 she did not let that define her. Kennise continued her education and attended school as much as possible. Kennise was determined, so she graduated and walked across the stage on her own on June 9, 2023. She received a certificate of completion from the Baltimore Design School and a Citation from the Baltimore City Councilman. She was straight A student from Pre K to the 8th grade.

Although Kennise was only 13 years old, she accomplished so much in the years she spent on this earth. She had an old soul as some would say. After receiving an illness in the Spring of 2022, Kennise did not let it get the best of her. Kennise fought long and hard continuously.

Kennise is now walking in heaven illness free, painless, no tumors, no medication and is happy as can be. She is now along side with her Father, Demetri whom she loved dearly and her loved ones who have gone home to glory.
