If we’re friends on Facebook, you’ve probably seen me post about Canelo. But I want to take a moment to really share his story.

Canelo has been living at Best Friends Pet Hotel in The Woodlands for the past three years. During my year and a half working there, I’ve gotten to know him, care for him, and fall completely in love with him. He’s not just another dog to me anymore, he’s family.

I’ve officially adopted Canelo so he can finally get the life and care he deserves. Unfortunately, he’s facing a serious challenge. Canelo tested strongly positive for heartworms, and without treatment, this condition can be life-threatening. He also needs updated vaccinations, including rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordetella, along with ongoing heartworm prevention after treatment.

I’m asking for help from anyone who is able to donate, share, or support in any way. Every little bit will go directly toward Canelo’s medical care and recovery.

Canelo is a four-year-old pit bull mix with so much love to give, and he deserves a real chance at a healthy, happy life.
