About this fundraiser

I’ve talled with the funeral home owners and they have allowed me to pay for the services as I can considering we live in a small town and they know my husband. My mama’s passing was sudden and oh so very unexpected. She turned 66 in march, but had no underlying health issue. She’d just had “one of her best doctor’s visits in sometime“(in her words as well as her practitioner’s)the week prior.
She often spoke of getting a small insurance policy once her SSI benefits started so that she’d not burden us in such an unfortunate occurrence as fate would have. However she never got around to it.
She was an EXTREMELY hard worker all of her life, being a single mother to my brother and I. Howeve, in 2013 she quit her job in South Carolina to move back home to Ashburn to care for her ill mother. Very soon after my grandmother’s passing, my grandpa loss use of his left leg and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, so immediately she became his caregiver taker as well. After his passing a few years ago, she never retained another job due to not being able to drive because of cataracts in both eyes.
Her job quickly became a servant of people in general.  I’m a homemaker, so I don’t have much income. But what I have, a do give to the funeral home. I’ve only been able to pay $265 to date. She passed away on May 4th, 2025.
