Life has a way of testing your faith and your finances all at once. My husband and I have always believed we're meant to be here in Presidio, serving this community. He's in law enforcement, doing work that matters, even though his pay reflects the reality of working in a small town. I stay home with our three children, homeschooling them, teaching Sunday school, and volunteering with an after school program on Thursdays. I pick up extra work when I can, doing murals and odd jobs to help stretch our grocery budget. I am an artist and I sell paintings, but income is never guaranteed.
We've made peace with living modestly. But then my husband was admitted to the hospital with ongoing afib, and suddenly everything shifted. Missing work and less overtime came. Time away from work compounded things. The bills that we'd been managing month to month suddenly became overwhelming, and we found ourselves falling behind.
I'm reaching out because we need help catching up. We need to get back on solid ground so we can focus on what matters most right now: my husband's health and our family. A contribution of any size would help us cover the bills we've missed and give us breathing room as he recovers. We're grateful for anyone who can help us through this difficult season.
