About this fundraiser

On November 7, 2024, 22-year-old Joshua Obed Balderas was rushed to the hospital with a high fever and difficulty breathing. Doctors quickly diagnosed him with severe pneumonia, and he was immediately admitted to the ICU and placed on a ventilator. Joshua has remained in critical care since that day.

Joshua is nonverbal and has difficulty communicating. He has a history of epilepsy and an Intellectual Disability Disorder, requiring 24/7 care from his parents, Leticia and Rafael. Leticia is Joshua’s primary caregiver at home, while Rafael works to support the family.

Since Joshua’s hospitalization, both parents have been by his side every day, with Rafael staying overnight at the hospital. The situation has been particularly challenging as Joshua struggles to understand what is happening. Rafael has taken a leave from work to help care for Joshua and support his recovery, leaving the family without their primary source of income.

Your generous donations will help Leticia and Rafael cover their mortgage, bills, and other essential expenses, allowing them to focus entirely on Joshua’s health and recovery. Any support you can offer would mean the world to them, providing peace of mind during this difficult journey.

Thank you for keeping Joshua and his family in your thoughts!
