Our sister, daughter, niece, granddaughter, Ceceilia is a beacon of joy in our family—strong, resilient, and full of life. Over the past 16 months, she has faced extraordinary challenges after receiving a life-saving kidney transplant. Recently, her world was turned upside down again when she developed severe complications, including a bacterial infection that is causing devastating damage to the tissue in her airway.

Ceceilia’s journey has been a rollercoaster of hospital stays, surgeries, and waiting for answers. Doctors have been working tirelessly to identify the root cause of her condition, exploring possibilities like post-transplant complications, autoimmune disorders, and infections. Each diagnosis seems more uncertain than the last, but one thing is clear: this is a long road ahead, and she can’t walk it alone.

Currently, Ceceilia is in intensive-care in Seattle and undergoing extensive treatments. Her condition has required life-supporting measures, including intubation, sedation, and feeding tubes. With tissue in a critical section of her airway dead or dying, her doctors are preparing to place a custom stent to stabilize her trachea. This procedure will buy her time to be with her family and allow doctors to continue searching for answers.

While Ceceilia fights for her life, her family has been by her side every step of the way. Her Fiancé, Michael and her mother Shalise, have become her constant companions, and her siblings and father are trying to stay strong through this unimaginable experience. The financial burden of medical bills, travel, hotel stays, and lost income has taken a massive toll on them. Despite their struggles, they remain Ceceilia’s greatest advocates, holding onto hope and love even in the darkest moments.
