About this fundraiser

About This Campaign

ChargeBuddy has been a project I originally planned to fund and build on my own. Recently, I fell off my bike and fractured my hip. The surgery that followed has left me temporarily unable to walk or work, which means I can no longer personally finance this project the way I intended.

Even with this setback, I still feel a deep responsibility to move forward with ChargeBuddy. The need for connection and access to resources doesn’t stop when life gets difficult — and I believe this tool can genuinely help people who are struggling to stay connected to essential services and support.

Who Will Benefit

ChargeBuddy is designed to support people experiencing homelessness, financial hardship, or temporary crisis. When someone’s phone dies, they can lose access to shelter information, food resources, job contacts, medical care, transportation apps, and communication with family. This app helps people locate publicly accessible places to safely charge their devices — keeping them connected to opportunity, stability, and support when they need it most.

What the Funds Will Be Used For

Funds raised will go toward:

• Website hosting and domain costs

• App platform and map service fees

• Development and maintenance of resource listings

• Printing outreach materials (QR code cards and stickers)

• Basic promotion to reach the people who need it most

Every dollar helps build and maintain a simple, accessible tool focused on connection, dignity, and survival.
Resources the App Will Include

In addition to charging locations, ChargeBuddy is being designed to include:

  •   Homeless shelters and warming centers
  •   Food pantries and meal programs
  •   Public restrooms
  •   Public Wi-Fi locations
  •   Medical and mental health resources
  •   Substance abuse recovery resources
  •   Employment assistance services
  •   Transportation resources
  •   Community support organizations

The goal is to create an all-in-one, map-based resource hub — something practical, simple, and easy to access from a phone.

The Impact Your Support Will Make

A charged phone can mean:

  •   Finding a safe place to sleep
  •   Getting directions to a hot meal
  •   Contacting a potential employer
  •   Checking in with family
  •   Accessing emergency or recovery support

Supporting ChargeBuddy helps remove one small but critical barrier for people trying to survive and rebuild.

Sometimes access to information is the first step toward stability.

Appreciation

Your support is more than a donation — it's belief in the idea that everyone deserves access to connection and essential resources. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps power hope and support survival.

Thank you for helping make this possible.
