  • Mom is home but we still need your help!!

Just wanted to give our supporters an update. My mom is home and continues to work on her recovery. As most of you know I work full-time and I am not home Monday through Friday for about 10 hours of the day. That is required us to hire a caregiver to come to the home to be able to stay with my mom. At this time, we can only afford to squeeze in four hours a day. In-home care is not covered under Medicare however, we are so close on being able to have Medicaid help find a caregiver. We have a visit this week with her case worker and he said it will take him a few weeks to find a caregiver. We still need your support since she’s private paying for the caregiver at $605 a week.
Please continue to pray for her through this recovery. She has physically therapy twice a week and exercises to do the rest of the week. We have good days and bad days, it’s a work in progress.

About this fundraiser

On May 28th, my beloved mom, Cheryl, suffered a serious fall that resulted in a broken hip and several other fractures. She underwent a partial hip replacement and has been in a skilled rehab facility since the surgery, working hard every day to regain her strength and mobility.

Her recovery journey is just beginning. Doctors estimate it could take 3 to 6 months before she’s able to walk, transfer into a wheelchair, and safely return home. She’s showing determination and courage, but she’s not there yet — and she can’t do this alone.

Medicare fully covers only the first 21 days of care, which ends this weekend. Starting Sunday, the cost to keep Cheryl in the facility jumps to $217 per day — a huge financial burden for our family. We’re in the process of applying for long-term care assistance, but that approval takes 60–90 days. Until then, we’re facing a difficult gap in coverage.

We’re hoping for a miracle — and reaching out to ask for your help.

Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward keeping Cheryl in the care she urgently needs. If you're not able to give financially, we deeply appreciate your prayers and positive thoughts.

We’re so grateful for your support, and for helping Cheryl continue on her road to recovery with dignity and the care she deserves. 💜

With love and thanks,
Michelle
