Hello! My name is Angel, I'm 35 and I live in Allentown Pennsylvania. I am a wife and a mother of 2 children aged 17 and 6. My husband is disabled and my youngest is developmentally delayed. I work full time and pick up overtime when I can. We receive no government assistance which makes the financial aspect of extensive dental work nearly impossible, and payment plans are out of our budget.
I am currently at my breaking point and need help. I have been dealing with dental problems for over 16 years due to pregnancies and vitamin deficiency .I can no longer take the physical and mental decline my failing teeth have caused. My teeth are breaking daily and the pain is becoming unbearable. I am known for always smiling, which has lessened substantially due to the condition of my teeth and made my mental health decline rapidly. Food is my second love in life after my family, and I have lost ability to chew almost anything that is solid, which spirals my mental health further.
I had an appointment with a dentist last month as a second opinion and the plan is to have all teeth removed aside from the bottom front 6. 4 implants will be placed in the top jaw with a temporary denture then a snap in denture a few months later. The bottom will have a regular partial denture. These procedures alone have been quoted at $15,000 combined barring any set backs. A bone graph will be another $1000 and anesthesia could run another $2000. To have a bridge put on either side on the bottom would cost an additional $7500 per side. The original dentist I saw quoted me $46000 in total so this option is substantially less compared to the first estimate. These types of procedures can run over $50000 to start.
On top of the procedures, I will have to take a month off of work and will be on a strict soft food diet for over a month. As with most dental procedures they will not begin any work until at least half of the procedure is paid for up front, which makes it even harder to even start this journey.
I do have dental insurance through my employer, that only covers $1800 in work per year, Also I have no secondary insurance. Care credits payment plan is to far out of my reach financially and have no savings due to living paycheck to paycheck.
Please help me get my smile, and my life back.
