About this fundraiser

Living with COPD has slowly taken away the one thing I’ve always relied on—my ability to work and support myself. For years I ran my own house-cleaning business, and I took pride in being independent. I was the person who always came to the rescue and now I'm needing the support and it does not look good for me.

I’ve been approved for Social Security Disability, but I’m still in the middle of the mandatory five-month waiting period. I have four more months before any benefits begin, and during this gap I’ve fallen behind on my car payments. I’m now at real risk of losing my car at any moment.

My car is more than transportation—it’s my lifeline. It’s how I get to my medical appointments, pick up my medications, buy groceries, and take care of basic day-to-day needs. Without it, I would lose the little independence I still have.

I’m humbly asking for help to get through this difficult stretch. Anything you are able to give—no matter the amount—will help me keep my car and stay afloat until my disability benefits begin. Your kindness would mean more to me than I can ever express. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for reading and for caring.
