Meet Jacob, he is my 2 two old nephew. He is sweet and helpful and just so handsome and he knows it. He is full of energy and has a fearless spirit. He is curious and his love for animals gets him giggling. He is a happy baby and a huge surprise as my sister was told she couldn't have any kids, so his 2 years here on earth and his entrance was a miracle in itself. Jacob was diagnosed with brain cancer about 2 months ago and doctors are in awe at his age, the size of the tumor and how he is functioning so well. We were told that although he seems to act fine, he's progressing very quickly and we have to do something very quickly. Doc said he will need a craniotomy. This is brain surgery. Doc said the sooner we get this done, the better it will be for Jacob. If we wait, the prognosis is looking like a 25% chance Jacob will live. This breaks my heart, and my sister is devastated. The surgery is going to cost and our family has broke the bank to try to make this happen. His insurance is only covering a portion of the surgery due to fine print and liability reasons. I thought a childs life was reason enough, but I guess not everyone feels this way. However, the total cost of the surgery is $61,000, this includes hospital, pre-op, the surgery and post-op and recovery. My family including myself has put forth the majority already and insurance is willing to cover ¼ of the total cost. So far we have $53,350, we are about $7600 short. I am asking for help today as all of our other options we have exhausted. Please help Jacob to live a full life with the knowledge and energy he deserves. Every dollar does count, please help us!
