About this fundraiser

My dad Monroe “Monnie” F Jr., has Dementia and Alzhimers.

The disease is different for each person and each family. There are some fundamental factors that remain the same. The person who has Dementia and or Alzhimers looses memories. Most become like a young child, learning everything for the first time. The difference is the patient learns everything for the first time several times a day.

The moments hit harder when they forget the names of the people in their lives, forget the important events, and then forget the people all together.

It is heart braking to watch someone who used to work diligently using, cameras, computer, microwaves, tv remotes, clocks and arm watch to not know or understand what these things are or how to use them.

It is difficult when the person looses “time” disoriented about night, day, morning, evening, weeks, months, and years. It is upsetting, to get a call that you hadn't visited in months, days years …when you just left the facility for the third time in a week.

Mostly it's hard to keep up the facade that everything is okay.  Not wanting that person to feel the pressure of all of the red tape, the low funds and the self doubt while trying to figure out, How, to keep them safe, and secure with the medical care needed, IF, they can't remain where they are receiving the care.

At this time he is in a 24-hour memory care facility that has 24/7-365 days a year care. Staffed by nurses, regular doctor visits, and end of life care. And 24/7-365 patient access for families, and guardians.

I need to raise funds to assist with the his monthly care expenses.

I'm asking anyone who can assist to please help. Every donation is appreciated.

I and dad thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any assistance you are able to offer.

Thank you.
