Hello, we know many of you have met Kenny & Diane. Kenny Z's Leathers. And Diane Zielinski . Kenny is a crafter and Diane has a smile for all that come to their booth.
In December of 2o24, Diane got pneumonia.
She had been extremely active. Working her job, juggling grandkids schedules & traveling with Kenny her husband from one event show to the next one. Diane was given medicine and from December to February made several trips to the ER. Where they finally diagnosed Diane with Interstitial Lung Disease. The disease itself is related to the arthritis scarring tissue with in the lungs restricting the breathing.
Diane was then sent to the Wausau Pulminology department & wound up on oxygen. After many tests Diane was forward to UW Madison. Testing; involved swallowing, checking her stomach, bone density tests, blood tests, she was restricted from eating & drinking fluids thru all of these tests, she became dehydrated & was losing weight rapidly. The set backs in her health continued. Pulmonary rehab & physical therapy were used to give Diane strength. Diane spent her time in motels and staying near to all the hospital . In March, Diane had multiple trips to UW for treatment. Diane was now facing early retirement, disability & now looking for assistance with medical bills & home bills. Even though Diane had received short term disability, when it turned into long term it then eliminated her work insurance. With all the stress of her illness, all she was enduring, medical bills mounting & medicines needed & facing surgery. Madison told Diane & Kenny, they were not equipped to handle the surgeries. Diane has now been referred to the Twin Cities where there is a surgeon with the possibility .With longer travel times, longer stays & more tests. A year of worsening health, medicines, more appointments and many doctors & specialists. With each breath harder to take in. Leading to countless doctors & diagnoses.
Diane has lost the ability to breath on her own. Needing oxygen & making it so she is unable to work at all. Her mobilty is near impossible as she has no strengh left and in her weakended state has exhausted her mobilty .
A mitral valve restriction where the valve doesn't open completely & narrows & restricts blood flow from the left atrium to the left ventricle. This leads to her shortness of breath, fatigue, fluid building up in the lungs & heart failure eventually.
The double lung transplant. And the heart surgery is Undetermined whether they can do both surgeries at the same time or if it will be seperate surgeries. This will lead to a long road of recovery.
Expenses will continue to mount so any donation is highly and greatly appreciated
