Hello friends and family,
As most of you already know, I'm a single momma of 3 amazing kids. I'm struggling to cope with a complex and undiagnosed illness that's forced me to stop working. My doctor has confirmed that I'm unable to work due to the severity of my symptoms, which include extreme fatigue, nausea, frequent vomiting, cold sweats, chronic and constant severe pain all over my body, sensitivity to heat, and numbness and tingling.
This illness comes on the heels of a pituitary (brain) tumor diagnosis, which has led to various symptoms, including rapid weight gain of over 100 pounds in just 1.5 years. This weight gain has not only limited my mobility but also forced me to rebuild my self-esteem. I've had to come to terms with the fact that my body is no longer the same, and it's been a challenge to adjust to this new reality.
As my symptoms worsened, my performance and attendance at work were inevitably affected. I struggled to maintain my usual level of productivity and reliability, and my internal symptoms started becoming visible to my managers from the outside. Despite my best efforts, I was no longer able to hide the physical toll my illness was taking on my body. Unfortunately, this led to me resigning from two jobs and ultimately being laid off from another, including my dream job in Social Work.
Despite the uncertainty of my diagnosis, the doctors have found crucial clues and problems with my bloodwork and other testing, which gives me hope that we'll eventually identify the underlying cause of my symptoms. I'm still undergoing ongoing appointments with medical specialists, and I'm determined to find answers and get the treatment I need.
I'm facing a significant financial burden, with bills piling up and limited options. I've applied for assistance, but the process is slow. I'm reaching out for help to cover essential expenses, including past due monthly rent ($800), a shut-off notice for water ($400), past due car payments ($450), and fuel for medical appointments. My car has also become unsafe to drive due to worn-out brakes and rotors, which need to be replaced all around. I've found a reasonable mechanic to do the work and can purchase the parts on (link unavailable) at a cost of $250 for parts and $250 for labor, totaling $500.
Furthermore, my auto loan company has threatened to repossess my vehicle if I don't reinstate my car insurance by June 27th. Due to my lapse in coverage, Progressive is my only viable option at a reasonable rate, and the cost to reinstate is $400.
I'm also in need of a new mattress, as my current one is worn out and uncomfortable. A basic mattress costs around $300, but with all my other expenses, it's hard to afford.
I'm more than grateful for any help we receive right now. I'm happy to accept Amazon or other deliveries of items for the household, and I'm thankful for any financial assistance that can help us get back on our feet. Your support would mean a lot to me and my children, and we appreciate your consideration.
