My name is Shannon and I live in the Dallas Fort-Worth area. I’ve had endometriosis for the past decade, however recently, after suffering from extreme abdominal pain that resulted in several trips to the emergency room, I learned that condition has become severe and I am experiencing complications that require urgent surgery.

This surgery will both treat my endometriosis and hopefully help me avoid irreparable damage to my reproductive health and to be able to live my life without excruciating pain.

I am uninsured and have been unsuccessful in finding funding through the healthcare system. The hospital, that my OBGYN works with is a for-profit facility, which I only learned after being called to schedule by their surgery center. I have contacted several non-profit hospitals, but all declined to accept my case without up front payment, similar to the for-profit hospital I’m already established with, because the surgery is considered "elective," despite the debilitating effects this is having on my health.

I have had to take out a substantial loan that  will be a struggle to repay for the surgery. My family has provided as much help as they can, but are unable to cover the entire amount.

I'm reaching out to anyone who cares deeply about women's health issues for assistance. I will be grateful for a donation of any amount. All donations will be used exclusively to pay medical expenses.
