Hello friends and family. As some of you already know, I badly injured my right knee. I dislocated my patella. I did my best to get it back into place at the time of my injury. I am honestly shocked by the magnitude of this injury. It’s going to take time and rehabilitation. The MRI of my knee revealed that I tore my MPFL ligament and there are minimal bone fractures/ bone bruises of my patella and femur. 

I will heal and recover. And I am determined to be able to walk normally again and dance again some day in the near future. However, I need help. Not only do have medical bills piling up, I haven’t been working and I’m falling behind financially. I did finally get a disability payment. But, they only paid me for 3 out of 4 weeks and only 60% of my usual salary. Mario and I are trying to keep our living expenses afloat. I pay a lot of money every month on my health insurance premiums. And now that I actually need to use my coverage, it is falling very short. Just like our home owners insurance fell short when we had a leak two years ago; we are still paying that off.

I need to come up with $4,350, so far, to be able to pay for the following: MRI $1295, x-rays $75, hinged knee brace put on by a casting specialist $390, three different doctor and specialist copays adding to $310,  Lyfts to SF when I was trying to work on crutches and Lyft rides to/ from Kaiser $175, medical supplies $150, and much needed continued physical therapy visits $500, and now my income is being reduced $250 week, being on disability. Luckily, I am planning to return to work in just a week and half.

I want to focus on recovering and I am asking for help with this financial burden of medical expenses. But, I’m hoping my loved ones can give a helping hand in my time of need.
