This year has been one of the hardest of our lives. My wife Jessi has suffered two strokes within a short time and spent two separate weeks in the hospital. Despite all this, she’s been incredibly strong and is still working part-time — but we are on the edge of losing everything.
Right now, we are waiting for Social Security Disability to be finalized, including back pay and my first check. I’m also in the process of working with a case manager to return to work part-time myself, but it’s a slow system — and time isn’t on our side.
Because of the strokes and ongoing medical challenges, Jessi can’t afford to miss work — but we no longer have a working vehicle, and transportation is becoming a serious issue. If we can't get her to work, she risks losing her job, which would make our situation even worse.
We’re currently struggling to keep up with:
Rent and utilities
Our phone bill
Food for the house
A way to get Jessi to and from work
Any amount you can give would go directly toward helping us cover these essentials and get through this time. Even if you can’t donate, sharing this means the world to us.
Thank you for reading and for caring — we’re holding on the best we can and are deeply grateful for any help.
