About this fundraiser

My friend Heather is going through the toughest period of her life right now.  She is a beautiful human being, struggling to keep her head above water on multiple fronts, and is in need of a human lifeline.  Myself along with another couple from church are working to try and improve her situation.

She’s in the middle of a very nasty divorce where her soon-to-be ex-husband is doing everything he can to destroy her financially, personally, as the mother of his children, and in every other way.

She’s living in a camper and fighting an uphill battle against mold that has developed because of moisture through the winter months, and has issues with the sewer and other systems that aren’t sustainable in this climate long-term.

She’s trying to get herself situated, but is swimming upstream as every facet of her existence and stability have been upturned all at once.

Her living situation, unless rectified soon, may cause the court to rule that her 2 teenage children live with their father (who is not a kind person and is a substance abuser) since they are really struggling with her living situation.

She has a small shed on her property that has the beginnings of what could be a “tiny” home, which if added onto slightly and transformed could allow just enough space for her and her daughter (12) and son (15) to live comfortably.

The shed has some existing features and systems in place… so with a little more time and money, could become the answer she is desperately looking for to fix her non-sustainable situation.

I have gone through my own rocky divorce, and having to not only deal with the legal process, the other party not being willing to deal fairly, the ongoing daily strain and havoc that causes, plus the spinning dynamics of children struggling between separated parents, your own emotions, and trying to get your bearings amid the logistics of a broken life - it is a storm to be gotten through and more than enough for anyone’s plate and I thank God I’ve reached the other side of that!   But for Heather, having to, in the midst of all that, create a viable living arrangement from the ground up with virtually no resources, is more than she can shoulder alone.

The couple from church…. He has the skills and ability and is willing to do all the construction, installation, and finish work… I am helping her with a floor plan as well as coming alongside to be involved in every way I can…

We just need the funds to pull the project off….

For lumber and roofing, a few windows, kitchen/bath fixtures, some electrical + plumbing (adding to what’s there), a wood stove, and flooring…

That’s where you come in.  If this story has inspired you at all, or you’ve ever faced your own life crisis, and can resonate with someone trying to rise from ashes and re-build a life in the face of huge heartache and loss… Or maybe, just maybe, you understand the toll it takes when experiencing antagonistic behavior from a previous spouse - for any of these reasons and more… perhaps you would like to be part of this story too…

You can do that by making a donation of any size towards Heather’s building project… and if you would please, share this fundraising link with everyone in your life who may be able and want to help as well…

If an old-fashioned check is easier for you than donating electronically, you may send it to:

She needs a reason to believe that God is working on her behalf.  And together I believe we can provide a much-needed miracle for her and her children!!!
