David is a 70 year old man who was a printer and basketball player when he was young. Later, he partnered with his mother running a facility for individuals needing assistance here in Arlington Heights. When his mother’s age and health needs required an assisted living facility, the family housing and business was lost.
David temporarily was living in his car until he had mechanical problems and could no longer drive the car. It began getting ticketed And was eventually towed to a mechanic to repair the starting problem. Unfortunatel,, only to discover the engine was the problem. Unable to afford that type of repair, David lost his car and his shelter.
With the weather changing to colder nights, my goal is to help David find an affordable car that can provide both transportation as well as temporary shelter. David is a resourceful, intelligent, and friendly human being who just needs a break to get back on his feet. His pension can cover his basic needs as long as he has shelter.
Please consider donating any amount toward the acquisition of a used reliable car. We would be so grateful for any amount of generosity. The world needs more of us loving our neighbor as ourself and willing to do unto others as we would have them do unto us. I wholly believe in the power of The Golden Rule, today more than ever.
If this story resonates with you, please join us in this act of humanity. Our community really needs more acts of kindness to preserve our faith in the empathy and kindness of our neighbors.
