About this fundraiser

1. I am 75 years old. And have become severely disabled and need money for paying medical procedures, related medical needs, medical help and housing.

2. I have become mostly bed ridden with congestive heart failure and vascular blockages and need additional surgeries for that.

3.I have nerve damage in my lower back which prohibits me from walking, standing, sitting and even lying down in certain positions for more than 5 to 10 minutes.

4. I have cataracts and I'm slowly losing my sight.

5. I have diabetic neuropathy and wounds on my legs that will not heal properly

6. Other than meager Social Security retirement which doesn't even cover my rent I have no more sources of income and have run out of my ability to borrow money. I need money to pay for everything else other than rent which includes medical, food, Internet, energy, my extensive medications, or anything else necessary to survive just for basic needs.

7. I have one more month left to be able to stay in my apartment and then I will be homeless.

8. I would not be able to last a few days without having a home for me to take care of my medical needs and my dog Sophie.

9. I live alone and moved to Eugene OR five years ago from California and I have not been able to establish myself with any kind of friendships whereas in the past I have been able to make friends very easily.

10. I have no more family left that can help me and most of my friends have died and the ones that are left are barely surviving themselves.

11. There is no financial aid available to me at this time or ever with this current political atmosphere.

12. Also, if I go homeless I will not be able to care for Sophie. She is so dedicated to me and since we only have each other, that if I had to give her away, it would be better for me to have to put her down because she would spend the rest of her life with a broken heart without me.

13. Sophie is a service dog. She can smell my breath and let me know if my blood sugar is low. She is so disciplined, loving and respectful. When I shop with her she sits in the electric grocery cart, I have to fight off people who ignore me and start to pet her like they are in a trance.
