Help Our 80-Year-Old Grandfather George Retire With Dignity

Our family is asking for help for our beloved dad and grandfather, George McCarthy, who is 80 years old and battling cancer.

Despite his age and his illness, he has continued working because he simply cannot afford to retire. For most of his life, he has worked hard and done everything he could to take care of himself and the people he loves. But now, his cancer and declining physical health have made it impossible for him to continue working.

He shouldn’t have to choose between taking care of his health and being able to afford the basic necessities of life. At 80 years old, he deserves the opportunity to rest, focus on his treatment, and spend his time surrounded by the people who love him—not worry about how he will pay his bills. He is a loyal employee at Jets pizza and delivers pizzas for a living. 
 

On October 16th, 2026 he had a tumor removed from his throat blocking ⅔ of his airway to breathe. Despite the surgery he still struggles to breathe. His Lung cancer has spread. Cancer started with his Kidney 3 years ago, resulting in the removal of his entire left kidney. Since then, he’s undergone infusions, treatments and living with the constant pain that comes with cancer. 
 

George is a father and grandfather that is so beloved to us all. He always has been the heart of the family. He has lost his wife, his brother, his best friend, his own daughter, his granddaughter, and grandson one after another due to tragedies, their deaths have taken a toll on him and our family tremendously. He has had to stand strong and battle so much, we want him to be able to finally rest comfortably and financially. 

We are raising money to help cover his living expenses, medical-related costs, and other necessities so that he can finally stop working and focus on his health and comfort.
