My sister Heather was recently diagnosed with Invasive Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and our family is facing something we never imagined. With our parents gone, it’s just been the two of us and our kids. Heather, a single mom of four, has always worked hard to support her family. After losing her job this past year, she’s struggled to find work and is now living with me to recover after surgery. The hardest part for her isn’t just the cancer—it’s the fear of being a financial burden on her children. While she has insurance, the costs of copays, specialist visits, scans, surgery, medications, and travel add up quickly. So quickly in fact, we are not able to affrd them all!  That’s why I started this fundraiser—to help ease that burden so Heather can focus on healing.
