I regret to share this news, but Mary passed away peacefully on Monday. The last few months were difficult, but Mary's sweet loving nature remained until her last breath.

Mary was so touched by the donations, prayers, and support she received from so many during this difficult time. Ray is also incredibly grateful to all who has helped them financially and emotionally while Mary made this final journey.

Ray was there by her side daily. Needless to say there is sadness at the loss of his partner of over 50 years, but he is glad she is not longer suffering.

I think everyone who knew Mary would agree that she was one of the kindest people they met. She had a magical way with children. I am comforted to know that she lives on through the gifts she gave to so many children in over 30 years as a Montessori teacher. She also influenced many new teachers as a Montessori teacher education instructor and through them will continue touching the lives of children and families.

Mary's love and devotion was an inspiration. I like to think the gates of heaven were flung open on Monday night and there was a joyful welcome home party. There are many of us who will miss her, but we were indeed blessed to know her.
