My name is Sarah and I am from Loveland, CO. I am raising funds for my best friend Shawna “Lizzy”, who has been in a mental hospital multiple times over the past few months, not by choice nor due to severe situations, but rather due to experiencing physical health symptoms and being subsequently forced into institutions, then kept for unreasonable amounts of time, which has led to her losing multiple jobs; she does not know if she will still have her current job when she gets out in the next week or so. Unfortunately, she has just lost the help from her family with her rent and car insurance, and though she receives most of it from social security, she is just under $360 short this coming month. I added some to the fundraiser and hope to raise $500 in hopes to give her some funds for food, gas, and other essential expenses she may have when she returns home, in the chance she loses her job. Her bills are due on September 6th, so I am hoping by starting this now and with the help of compassionate folks we can help her make what she needs before then, so she can return home with peace of mind and confidence in moving forward from this. I am financially unable to cover this cost myself otherwise I would love to help her myself, so I would be extremely grateful to anyone who is able and willing to help contribute. There are some serious gaps in the mental health system, and her experiences have broken my heart, but have also shown me where us in the community may be able to help her and others succeed when they return home from a mental hospital stay.
