Hello! My name is Jenny, and I'm here hoping to raise enough money to receive proper dental work to fix my smile.
A little bit about me, I'm a survivor, I'm a Mom, a grandma (they call me Pickles), and a faithfully grounded in Christ 42 year old woman. I've faced many mountains with God by my side. Everything from third degree burns on 10% of my body, to domestic violence, dying at the hands of a boyfriend (he resuscitated me) and breaking the cycle of abuse, to addiction and ultimately sobriety for coming up on 7 years.
Throughout the years of caring for my family, I've put myself on the back burner. I'm recently separated and will be divorced from a very difficult 6 ½ year marriage. My only marriage. The last 6 ½ years have been some of the most emotionally draining years of my life. Sending me into a deep depression. My physical and mental health took a hard blow. My teeth were no exception.
I'm ready to get my smile back, I want to feel good about myself on the outside while I'm healing what's broken on the inside. Fixing my teeth would not only help my overall health, but potentially give me the self esteem boost I need. Before life got to be a lot to handle, my smile was my favorite feature. Now, I hide it as much as I can. Eating is struggle, I am slowly switching to softer foods because solids are becoming impossible to eat. Each month, at least once, the broken teeth become painfully inflamed causing immense discomfort. The long term effects of the broken teeth and poor oral health. One bad infection and it could be a hospital stay.
My goal is to raise enough money to properly fix my teeth without having to pull all of them. I've been officially moved out for 2 months from the marial home and I've began taking better care of myself, brushing every day and forming better oral health habits. I currently have at least 9 broken teeth that need pulled, I'm sure there's more. And I'd like to possibly raise enough to fix the teeth that can be fixed and replace the broken teeth with partials or implants. Whichever way the orthodontist wants to go.
I want to say thank you to anyone reading this - thank you for letting me share and be vulnerable. And thank you for considering donating, I want this so bad and I would treat the replacements with respect and care. I'm already taking better care of my oral health, and plan to continue down this path in a positive way. Only moving forward, never looking back.
(If you are an orthodontist or you know one who would donate the work instead of the money, I'd gladly take that offer above monetary donations.)
God bless you and keep you.
