Hi, I am 23 and currently stuck living in a house I do not want to be in because my parents keep limiting my ability to get a job. Every time I get an opportunity, they convince me not to go to the interviews. I am exhausted and I am finally standing up for myself.

I am asking for only 250 dollars because I need money for bus fare so I can get to work, and I also need clothes. The only pair of pants I have is an old pair of jeans that is falling apart. I believe 250 dollars is enough for me to reach my goal. I know I am capable of doing the rest on my own. I just need a small push to finally move forward.

Right now they have me sleeping on an old, dirty mattress that came from a family member. It is sitting on top of crates and it is making me sick. I am surrounded by junk they keep throwing into the basement. They also forced me to use my Social Security number for their electricity account, and now the bill is almost 2,000 dollars. Since it is in my name, I am the one who has to pay it.

They don’t care about me at all and only want me as a free caregiver and nothing else. They shower my siblings with clothes and gifts while I get nothing but neglect.
