About this fundraiser

My husband, Gregg, has been in and out of hospitals, nursing facilities and rehabs since Oct. 2023.  It began with a diabetic ulcer on his left foot, which turned into him almost losing that foot, but the doctors were able to save it.   He was diagnosed with ST3 colon cancer in 2023, and due to being sick, from one thing or another, he has not been able to start chemo as of yet.  This has been a trying time for both of us.  It began in 2023 with a diabetic ulcer on his left foot.  This led to so many complications and so many hospitals, nursing homes ,and rehab facilities.  He has only been home for about a month, total, since he was taken to the ER in October of 2023.  He is due to come home on Tuesday, 5/20/23, after being gone for almost 2 years.  He had to have his left toe amputated.  He has been bedridden this entire time and has ZERO strength in his legs and is currently unable to stand on his own.  He had an infection with the port that was placed in his chest for the chemotherapy treatments.  He found out that he has an aortic aneurysm that needs to be addressed, and on top of all of this, he needs to start chemo.  He has used up all of his Medicare days and is using his reserve days at this time.  We are both on disability, and money is extremely tight!  In fact, right now, we are negative in our bank account and still have 2 weeks to go before the checks are deposited.  We need so many things when he comes home.  Medicare has picked up a lot of the bills for us, but we are well into the millions with all the hospital stays, nursing facility stays, and rehab.  Medicare won't pay for everything, unfortunately, and we are left with the rest.  We are just in a place in our lives that I never thought we would be.  I need a hip replacement, and he can't walk.  Wow!  What a couple we are, huh?  Gregg has been through hell and back.  He needs to gain strength in his legs so that I can get my hip taken care of.  He needs protein shakes, drinks, and snacks.  He needs a BP cuff and a sugar monitor, both of which Medicare will not pay for.  He is on a lot of different prescriptions, and they aren't cheap!  Not to mention that I am on my meds myself!  It's just a mess, and we need help!  I am hoping that someone will hear my pleas, and I hope that God will answer my prayers!
