Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out to share a little about what our family has been going through. My father is currently battling leukemia and going through intensive medical treatment including chemotherapy, frequent hospital visits, blood transfusions, and ongoing monitoring by his oncology team.
Over the past months he has been hospitalized multiple times due to complications related to his illness and treatment. His immune system is extremely weak, and even small infections can become very serious. Because of this, he requires constant medical care and regular trips to the hospital for appointments, labs, treatments, and transfusions.
He is also preparing for a bone marrow (stem cell) transplant, which will be a very important step in his treatment and recovery.
Thankfully, his health insurance is currently covering most of his medical treatments. However, there are still many day-to-day expenses that come with supporting someone through cancer treatment.
My father lives in Massachusetts, and I’ve been helping coordinate his care, manage medications, and transport him to appointments. Because of how often he has needed care at the hospital, I stepped away from work so I could be there to support him during this time.
The frequent travel between home and the hospital, along with everyday needs during treatment, can add up over time. While we are managing and staying focused on his recovery, any support from friends, family, or our community would truly be appreciated.
Donations would help with things such as:
• Transportation to chemotherapy, transfusions, and doctor appointments
• Gas and car maintenance from frequent trips to the hospital
• Clothing and comfort items during treatment
• Food and daily necessities during long hospital days
• Basic living expenses while I help care for him
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this message or simply keeping my father in your thoughts and prayers would mean just as much to us.
Also, I want to share something important. We are currently searching for potential stem cell donors. If you’re between 18 and 35, your stem cells could help my father cure or treat him with blood cancer or another serious blood disorder. Because everyone’s genetics are different, you could end up being the one person who matches and gives him a second chance at life. You could truly be his only hope.
If you have any questions about becoming a donor or how the process works, please feel free to reach out to me directlyand I would be happy to help share more information.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any support you may be able to give as my father continues his fight against leukemia.
Please donate to comment.
