Last week(Thursday) our family dog Ozzy started puking. I figured he just ate to fast. As the day went on he got more and more sick. I called my vet to see what I could do to help him stop puking. They advised me to give him some pepto and see if that helped with the vomitting. It did slow the vommiting. By Saturday he had stopped vomitting and started drinking some water but still wouldn’t eat. He started having diarrhea. The vet the advised us to try giving him pedialyte to help with dehydration he would drink some of that but things won’t stay down. He cant walk we have to carry him everywhere. He is so weak. Fast forward to today. After doing all we can at home while waiting for funds I finally had to break down and take him to the vet in hopes I will have enough money to get him the care he needs to get better. He is normally a very hyper bouncy dog. All he has done is lay around. As of this morning they ran a parvo test which was negative, got an X-ray drew blood and he is staying at the vet tonight for iv fluid's. We will go from those test to see what happens next. If they all come back fine they will be going with another X-ray with barium to be 100% sure there isn’t a blockage or twisted bowel. So as I usually don’t do things like this I’m fearing I won’t have the funds to get him proper care. We have looked into pet insurance and there is a waiting period and preexisting conditions clause that unfortunately won’t cover his coat so I’m reaching out for help. If you would like to donate you can either donate directly to me or to our vet under Ozzy/ Jenniffer Gross. Our vet is Animal Medical clinic in Marshalltown Iowa. Phone number : 641-753-8532 address : 2412 Parker Ave Marshalltown ia. Thank you for your consideration in helping out our beloved dog. Update as of noon today (11-20)his white blood count is elevated which means he has an infection. They have not ruled out a blockage but are going to give him antibiotics and fluids through the night and go from there. ***update (11-21). The vet called this morning and said Ozzy can come home with meds and he is starting to show signs of improvement. They also told me that the total bill will have to be paid today when we pick him up. The total is 792.30$.
