About this fundraiser

Robin Fontenot, a former White Salmon resident has been working hard to move back to the gorge for several years. With three children aged 15, 16 and 21 who are on the Autism Spectrum, Robin has found it increasingly difficult living 1700 miles away in Wichita, Kansas. Her community in Wichita is not a safe one and she feels isolated there with no support system. She recently came back to the area to find a job and a place for her family to live. She was able to find employment and is on a waitlist for an apartment in The Dalles. She wanted to stay and work until they were able to get the apartment, but with no timeline of when that may occur she found that she had to return to her children. Being away from them was difficult and not sustainable. She was able to find out that the services available for her children and their quality of life would be much better in Oregon. She would also be close to many close friends which could offer comfort and support. She would also know that if something were to happen to her, the children would be cared for. The family has tried for loans to have money in place for when the call comes to say their apartment is ready. They do not qualify and are hoping to find a way to make this move happen. If you are able to help at all, any amount would be appreciated. anything gets them closer to their goal!  Thank you!🙏🏻
