I know an amazing person who has been through hell and back more times than I could count. Sara Hertl was born June 3rd 1982. In southern California. She will admittedly say she messed up a lot in the beginning of her life and is trying to make up for it, but I think life has been messing with her and she has managed to make the best of it.
She is an artist. A writer. A singer. A song writer So creative and extremely intelligent (IQ in high 140s). She is one of the sweetest people I know and has a great sense of humor. She could have easily been a comedian. She is a college graduate since 2008 Her degree as an Addiction Treatment Specialist (with dual diagnosis /mental health).
She was a plumbers apprentice and passed the exam for licensed contractor in her mid to late 20s while she was raising small children. Her husband she was with nearly 20 years died tragically as a result of a surgery gone wrong. Due to his year long hospitalization, all savings were diminished, truck was repo'd and they lost their home. Leaving her to figure things out with 7 kids at the time (that are one by one growing into beautiful young adults). She rebuilt from the ground up just to have her family torn apart. She remarried in 2018 and despite raising 'his' kids, their marriage failed and he was ordered to pay alimony (which he never did).
She has done so many great things that nobody knows about. Like, charitable work for children with autism through fundraisers she planned with events and music festivals. Her last being Stardust 2021, a local music festival intended to raise money for 'the miracle project' . She is an avid animal lover and has fostered multiple kittens, puppies, and rabbits. Even a pig and a goat at some point. She is always willing to serve and volunteer for those in need. While working the carnival she made sure all families who crossed her path were given the "full fair experience" bringing joy to hundreds of not thousands of children 2023 to 2024. In August 2024 she had to leave the fair after her 23 year old daughter died suddenly and tragically. Since she has been using her artistic abilities to get by, with her small window painting business.
Recently, 01-2025 after working the winter to buy her childrens Christmas presents, someone broke into her car and stole every single one. As well as many other irreplaceable things such as her wedding ring from her late husband (she had removed to have loose stones tightened).Though the person was caught and arrested, the items were not recovered.
I know if it were me, I'd be very discouraged by what gets thrown her way … wave after wave. As of now she is again, rebuilding from the ground up. I just want to let her know her efforts are not in vane and that her resilience is inspiring.
If she also inspires you, give her a hand.
I will match buck for buck any that are donated.
(Until I too am out of funds lol)
I've seen great things done when we all pitch in. Let's show her some love.
