Asher is one of the brightest, kindest, and most determined people we know. He’s a trans man, a full-time pre-med university student, and someone who has built a life around creativity, community, and resilience. He’s the kind of person who keeps showing up for others even when the world keeps knocking him down.

Right now, Asher is facing a devastating housing crisis, and we’re doing everything we can to help him stay in school, keep his beloved cat, and avoid homelessness.

Due to a series of heartbreaking circumstances, including serious health issues in his family, Asher is being forced to leave the family home. His Bubbie was recently hospitalized and is now permanently immobile. To qualify for Medicaid and receive the care she urgently needs, the house must be sold (thanks, America). This comes barely one year after losing his childhood home to foreclosure.

Now, Asher is being put in an impossible position:

Drop out of school to try and earn enough money for rent, or keep working toward his degree and risk being unhoused.

And on top of that, he’s facing the very real possibility of losing his cat—his emotional support animal and his only real source of comfort.
