My name is Misty and my husband is Trevor and our fur baby is King. We lost everything in Hurricane Helene. We have applied for help from FEMA, we received initial rental assistance and got a place to stay. We applied for continued rental assistance which has been pending since February. We owe $5500 for past due rent. Our water was cut off the beginning of May which has a balance of around $400. The power is set to be cut off June 25 with a balance of around $900. My landlord told me yesterday, June 2 that I had to pay at least $2500 by this coming Monday June 9 for him to not file eviction. I recently had an X-ray of my chest and they found a 16 mm wide nodule on my lower left lung. I have an appointment on June 20 for further testing but my blood work is abnormal in numerous areas. There is a history of Lung Cancer in my paternal family.
