Day +14 Update
Esther has made it to Day +14. The past several days have continued to be challenging, but she remains incredibly grateful for the love and support surrounding her. The meal drop-offs have been such a blessing, but even more meaningful has been seeing familiar faces and feeling the encouragement of her community.
Unfortunately, her blood work has not shown the improvement we had hoped for, and she continues to experience persistent fevers. While this has been discouraging, we are all continuing to remain hopeful.
It has become increasingly likely that Esther will require a second stem cell transplant. While this is not the news we were hoping to share, her medical team is already working diligently to prepare the next steps. Esther also has upcoming travel planned, and at this time her doctors remain optimistic that she will still be able to make the trip with appropriate precautions in place. The goal is to continue strengthening her body in preparation for any future treatment she may need.
Although we don't have specific details to share just yet, please know that there is a thoughtful plan being developed behind the scenes. Esther simply isn't ready to share more until those plans are finalized.
In the meantime, we would love to arrange a few drive-by visits for Esther. Seeing familiar faces has been incredibly uplifting and has made a meaningful difference during these difficult days.
We truly cannot express how thankful Esther is for every message, prayer, meal, visit, and act of kindness. Her community has been a constant source of strength and encouragement.
Please continue praying that her blood counts begin to recover, that her fevers resolve, that she remains as comfortable as possible, and that she is given strength and peace as she navigates the road ahead. Thank you for continuing to walk alongside her through this journey.
