Hello my name is Starr Pritchard and I am starting this fundraiser for myself, which is very hard for me to do, I hate asking for help as I always have been Independent and I let my pride stand in the way. I have no family so when emergencies arise it is a struggle but I have always made it through with the grace of God. But recently I have been through too much which has me left me with no place to live, medical bills that just keep coming as I have no health insurance. 

About 2 years ago my colon ruptured and was hospitalized for over a week and ended up with a colostomy. I had no insurance and still paying for this. But had to drop out of cosmetology school and had to quit my job. It was a struggle but was pushing through. About 9 months after I had lost my vehicle because I could not get caught up, and had to leave my place I was renting. So I had been staying with friends here and there. Then I developed a Parastoma hernia  in my colostomy, which when infected was the size of a cantaloupe and caused excruciating pain. 

Well I got my job back in November of 2024 and again still have not got into my own place but things were looking a bit better. Then February 2, 2026 I was rushed to the emergency room because this hernia was causing pain that would not let up at all, hurt all the time. A CT scan was done and they told me I had a bowel blockage and they needed to repair the hernia immediately.and they did emergency surgery. I was in the hospital for 4 days. Then 6 days later I was still in excruciating pain so they took me to the emergency room and they did another scan and said I had fluid around where he repaired the hernia, which was blood. So he drained it and sent me home. Then 8 days later I was in my room where I was staying and I got up to go to the bathroom and almost passed out, I got extremely nautilus and blood was pouring out colostomy and everywhere and I had no color in my body at all, very pale. I called 911 and a ambulance transported me to the ER. When I got there they said if I had waited any longer I would have died. My Hemoglobin was 3.1 and should be around 11, and was admitted and 2 IV's put in to do 3 bags of blood transfusions, and was in the hospital again for 4 days. They did a scope and found that I have a bleeding stomach ulcer. They will redo the scope in 8 weeks to see if its healing, if not surgery will be needed.

Needless to say I have been out of work again for almost a month and a half. Medical bills are piling in , my bills are delinquent, and have several doctors visits soon that I have no clue how I will pay for them along with regular prescriptions I take on a monthly basis and no idea where my food will come from . 

I have no family whatsoever to help me so this is why I am doing this fundraiser. Right now I am staying in a hotel which is only temporarily and this itself is very depressing, but I'm grateful someone helped with this. 

I know that God is always by my side, he has never failed me!! It hurts my pride to ask anyone for help because of my pride, but this time I have to put my pride aside. Having no place to live, and worrying about how I will pay for all these hospital bills and doctors visits that are scheduled, and regular prescriptions that I need is so much . Until I can return to work I am stressing and so not want to go backwards and into the hospital again. I will be grateful for any help.
