Our family has been hit by a sudden and devastating medical storm. Just two months ago, my father was a healthy man, but in a heartbreaking turn of events, he suffered three heart attacks and a stroke in rapid succession. He is currently in a long-term rehabilitation program, fighting to recover.

While my father was being hospitalized, my mother was also rushed to the ER because she couldn't breathe due to her COPD. She is now home in Mariposa, but she is struggling both physically and emotionally. After 50 years of doing everything together, she is suddenly alone, scared, and trying to carry the weight of a household that they always managed as a team.

The Urgent Need My parents have always split their bills 50/50. For the last two months, my mother has been trying to cover 100% of the expenses on her own. After paying the most critical bills this month, she is left with only $107.

This is not enough for food, medication, or the basic necessities of life. Because of her own health issues and a previous stroke, she can no longer drive. Living in a rural area like Mariposa makes her situation even more isolated. The stress is taking a visible toll  she has lost a significant amount of weight, and it is clear she is barely making it by.

How You Can Help Between myself in Fresno, my brother, and a close friend nearby, we are doing everything humanly possible to provide care and supplies, but we cannot cover the financial gap alone. We are asking for your help to ensure my mother:

Has enough food for the month.

Can keep the lights on and the house warm.

Can afford her medications for her COPD and other health needs.

Has a safety net while my father is in rehab.
