  • Finally got speech therapy going

Travis and I have had a pretty eventful week. He had his PT evaluation on Tuesday. Makayla had her open house on Wednesday first year of high school. Zillah had her open house on Thursday can't believe she's now a 1st grader! Proud dad got to open house early and everything 💕💕💕. Had his speech evaluation done today.

They say he struggles with a mixture of Transcortical Motor Aphasia and Broca's Aphasia. So that has to do with his "expressive" speech, causing difficulty speaking, difficulty maintaining a clear thought process and a few other things on top of some Cognitive delay. Finally got him in for his OT Evaluation next Friday, and currently still waiting for his Neuro Cognitive Exam to be scheduled with Duke.

He's doing amazing, I'm so proud of his progress. Prayers are still definitely needed. Our three girls really want/need our Superman back! Any help or support is much needed and appreciated. If your uncomfortable with donating to this you can cash app me @ V3r0n1caDr0st. Please please keep praying.

About this fundraiser

Hello Everyone,

My name is Veronica and although it is very hard for me, I find myself needing to reach out for ANY help I can receive for my family at this time, due to unfortunate circumstances.

We fell on hard times when the love of my life, Travis suffered from several strokes back in April of this year. He had to be hospitalized for 10 days, and was then sent to see a Neurosurgeon at Duke hospital! This is where he was diagnosed with Bilateral Moyamoya disease. It's a rare disease affecting the main arteries that carry blood supply to your brain. His arteries are severely narrowed and blocked, so he is not get enough blood flow to his brain. And Sadly after discovering all of this, he had to quit working.

His Doctors planned for him to have two Revascularization bypass (Brain Surgeries) done in order to reduce his risk of strokes, by getting more blood flow to his brain and giving him a better quality of life!

However, due to severe complications with the 1st brain surgery he will not be returning home anytime soon .

Life has really been turned upside down for all of us at the moment. And with only one income, the money just hasn't been enough to stay afloat. I have been doing my best and finally got hired to be a store manager for a brand new coffee shop. But until I get that paycheck, and start my training we are going to need some help.

We are a month behind on every bill at the moment. Just getting us caught up alone brings us to $3500.

Leaving the rest for gas money to travel back and forth (2 hrs from home), food, and parking ($12/day) while being in the hospital. Medical bills we are currently acquiring, anything else needed during his stay and some groceries for whenever we do get back home.

I would also like for EVERYONE to continue Remembering Travis in your prayers, he has a long road to recovery and his girls need their Superman back home!!

Please know ANY help or prayers is greatly appreciated!!

Thank you all so much ❤️
