  • Trusting God Through the Hard Days: An Update on My Mom

Hello All. Mom is continuing her fight with stage 4 lung cancer that has metastasized to her abdomen. She completed her last round of the carboplatin on December 4, 2025, which is a very intense form of chemotherapy treatment. Unfortunately, this round came with much stronger side effects, and she has been experiencing more pain than usual. We kept Christmas small and intimate this year, cherishing the time together. The very next day, on December 26, 2025, she had a new CT scan to check for any changes. When we met with her oncologist on December 29, 2025, we received difficult news. In just those three weeks, the cancer in her abdomen has grown, and at this time it no longer appears to be adequately managed by the current treatment. As a result, her doctor has referred her for another PET scan, as well as radiation, and she may need to begin a different type of chemotherapy in addition to continuing immunotherapy. We are so incredibly thankful for every prayer, phone call, message, and kind word. They truly lift us during the hardest moments. Mom is still awaiting approval for Disability and Medicaid. This has placed a significant financial strain on our family. I am deeply grateful for every donation that has been made, and I humbly ask that you please continue to share and support if you are able. More than anything, my wish is for my mom to have peace, comfort, and strength during this journey. Please keep her in your prayers, especially for good results on her PET scan scheduled for January 16, 2026, and for the mind of Christ over the doctors as they determine the best treatment plan moving forward. God bless each and every one of you. I hope everyone had a happy holiday, and thank you all for your continued love and support. It truly means more than words can express. 💙🙏

Trusting God Through the Hard Days: An Update on My Mom

About this fundraiser

Support for Tara’s Healing Journey

On June 25th, 2025, what started as a routine physical for my mother, Tara, turned into news that has completely changed our lives in an instant. At just 53 years old, she was unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer that has metastasized to her abdomen. This was something we never imagined we would be facing and has devastated our family.

On August 18th, 2025, she began chemotherapy treatments right away in hopes of fighting this disease head-on. As strong as she is, the treatments have already begun taking a toll on her body, leaving her unable to work but only a few hours in this past month. My mother is single, and was a full time Furniture Sales and Design Rep before this battle started so without the ability to work to her full potential, the weight of medical bills, living expenses, and day-to-day costs has become overwhelming. We are currently in the process of applying for Medicaid and disability among other things, but as many of you know, those processes take time. In the meantime, we are doing everything we can to make sure she has what she needs.

My mother has always been the type of person to care for others, to love deeply, and to stand strong even in difficult times. Now, it’s our turn to do the same for her. We are asking for donations of any size to help ease the financial burden so she can focus fully on her healing, peace, and recovery. We also ask that you please nominate her and share this Fundraiser. My mother also has 3 Grandchildren ages 15, 6, and 4 as well. We want to take the weight off of her shoulders so that she can enjoy her family and have the best quality of life. Every contribution will go directly toward her medical expenses, bills, and essentials.

Most importantly, we ask for your continued prayers, love, and support. We believe in faith and healing, and we are standing strong with the belief that she is healed in Jesus’ name.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to every single person who donates, shares, or lifts up my mother in prayer. Your generosity and kindness mean more than words can express.

With love and gratitude,

Courtney
