About this fundraiser

Dear friends, and kind-hearted strangers,

I never imagined I'd be writing something like this, but here I am—asking for your help not just for a friend, but for someone I consider family.

In March, a new management company took over our apartment complex. At first, everything seemed the same—rent remained steady, and utilities were still rolled into a flat rate, just as they had been for years. But behind the scenes, the new company was changing how rent and utilities would be handled going forward.

Without notifying residents clearly, they began tracking utilities separately. And now, in June, they've fully implemented their system—charging all of us not just for this month’s utilities, but also for the past three months of unpaid charges. These “back charges” hit everyone hard, and many of us were caught completely off guard.

This sudden spike in our housing costs has left my best friend in an impossible situation. She simply can’t afford to cover her share of the new rent and unexpected charges, and now she’s being pushed out of the home we’ve built together.

We need to raise $1,800 as soon as possible to help her stay. This isn’t just about money—it’s about holding onto the safety, love, and stability we’ve created. She’s more than a roommate. She’s been my rock, my family, my support in hard times—and now it’s my turn to fight for her.

If you’ve ever had someone in your life who felt like home, you understand how much this matters.

Any amount you can give—$5, $10, $20—will help. And if you can’t donate right now, please consider sharing this with someone who might be able to. Every bit counts.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read this, and for caring. Please help me keep my best friend home, where she belongs.

With gratitude and love,
