I am a 56 year old mother of two, step mom to two , and a Grandmother of eleven who until a year ago was working 50 - 60 hours weekly,. Going camping, hiking- just enjoying life when diagnosed with severe COPD and two types of emphysema.  The funds raised will be used for a future lung transplanT at Duke University, for upfront expenses. I lost my job in March of this year and have used all of my 401k and savings to keep going.  I have so much to still do and want to do, especially where my family is concerned.  The option of having the transplant is giving hope without boundaries.

I find it very difficult to ask for donations, but the support that will be provided would be, well, indescribable.   It would mean that life wouldn’t be unfinished, rather, just beginning again.
