Hi, my name is Keyarai Allen, and I’m a mother who is scared and heartbroken right now.

Every day, I worry about my children’s safety in the home we’re living in. The house is severely infested with rats, and it has gotten so bad that it’s not just uncomfortable—it’s dangerous. Recently, I found a deceased rat on my bed, where my six-month-old son sleeps. I can’t describe the fear and panic I felt in that moment. No child should ever have to be exposed to this.

I’ve reached out to the landlord multiple times, begging for help, but nothing has changed. I feel trapped, and it’s heartbreaking to watch my children live in conditions that are unsafe and unhealthy.

The hardest part is knowing there’s a way out—but I can’t do it alone. I’ve been approved for a new home, a safe and clean space where my children can finally sleep peacefully and be protected. But I need help covering the security deposit and moving expenses to secure it.
