About this fundraiser

Kikanza fought SO HARD for a year and a half to defeat her cancer, to heal and live for many more years so she could watch over our three beloved children and share many more wonderful moments with me. She was so disciplined. She and we tried everything under the sun to heal the cancer. When the cancer returned as each treatment modality failed, she would look at me with those beautiful eyes and implore me to find another treatment. Implore me to explain why nothing was working. I have so much more to give! she would cry. I'm not ready to die. The world needs me! My children need me! Village Playgarden needs me! And yet she was so grateful for being able to bring our three children into adulthood, for the 30 years we had together, and the school she created was deeply fulfilling. "I have a beautiful life!" she would also tell us often. The bitter and the sweet.
