This is my childhood friend Katya she is fighting the road to recovery and has been given a new chance at life. Katya has a heart of gold and a fierce fighting spirit.She hasn't been able to work due to her medical condition of stage 4 Cirrhosis of the liver for the last couple of years. This has made it increasingly difficult to pay her rent,utilities and meet her basic needs. When she was diagnosed, the Dr's initially gave her 6 months to live.

 After making so many life changes, she has fought relentlessly to stay alive for her 2 daughters and herself and now she's been placed on the transplant list for a new chance at life! She is living in El paso,TX and the surgery will be in Dallas,TX. With the help of her mother and starting a holistic lifestyle change she has turned her health around greatly! 

My name is Jay. I am a holistic birth and death doula, and I will be relocating from Madison, Wisconsin, for a few months to be by her side. My goal is to ensure she has the best possible chance at healing as she starts this new chapter. Because Katya’s family is small—and her mother is currently a full-time caregiver for Katya’s father as he battles dementia—I will be leaving my 10-year-old twins in my sister’s care to provide the support Katya needs.

We are filled with gratitude as we reconnect and navigate this journey together. From being eight-year-old kids to raising our own babies, we are now fighting to ensure we can watch those children grow up together.
