About this fundraiser

Educational support for the children of Michael Athens.  Michael passed away much too soon on Jan 4, 2025, leaving his wife Jun and three children, ages 13, 15 and 17. Michael and his wife have been teachers in Singapore. Sadly, with his passing, the family has lost his income and due to his recent residency in Singapore, very few benefits for his family.  Any donations on his behalf would be used for the education of Noah, Sarah and Nico, his true legacies.

Please note, you can modify the tip to GiveAHand to make it any amount you choose.

May Mike’s Singapore family and his US family find comfort, hope and peace in the following days. Comfort from the wonderful memories of Mike, hope for the future of his and Jun’s children, and peace from the love and support of family and friends. Jeanne and Leon Jensen

My heart goes out to Michael's family. I never met him but was friends with his mom and dad, and when our twins were born, his twin sisters gave swimming lessons to our two older sons so I could get a break, an act of kindness I will never forget. I read that Michael shared this generosity of spirit. God's blessings be with you.

We cannot thank you enough for your contributions and thoughtfulness! Noah, Sarah, Nico, along with their mother Jun, are slowly adjusting to their new life. We have had some beautiful celebrations of Michael's impactful life by his family, students and players he coached. He will always be remembered with a warm heart and a smile as our memories of his humor, compassion and intellectual insights come to mind. We loved him dearly. Our entire family is overwhelmed by your generosity.
