About this fundraiser

My Father, Michael Baugh suffered a severe stroke on December 6th.  He ended up falling out of bed at the hospital due to severe sundowning and fractured his hip which was surgically repaired. For the past five months, he has been enduring tremendous pain and suffering from being bounced around to various rehabilitation facilities and then back to the hospital due to AFIB.  During this process, he has lost a significant amount of weight, developed Stage IV Bed Sores due to lack of care, has severely dimished swallowing function which has caused him to have a peg tube installed for feedings and to try to heal the wound.   He has been non- abulatory for five months and his currently in a shared home.   My father was the caregiver for my mother  as well who has early onset dementia and is  also residing in this shared home.   Due to this emergency, I was forced to sell their forever home and sell off the majority of their personal belongings to raise income to support the tremendous amount of care my father is going to need for the next 6 months in order to possibly recover.   I am having to hire around the clock caregivers to administer tube feeds, provide antibiotics and medication,  clean his wound and adjust him in his bed and begin to try to provide Physical therapy to get him up and moving.    My parents have exhausted their savings and I am not sure where to turn for help. I have never been in a position to ask for this type of help but anything would be appreciated to help support what is needed in the next few months.  My goal is to get my father to an improved medical condition so I can move them out to Arizona where I reside to continue to provide care. Currently my father is not medically fit to travel and I am forced to keep him in Illinois.   I appreciate your support during these trying times.

Thanks

Aaron
