Fall of 2021 Adam & Jocelyn Wreede became debt free after ALOT of hard work and sacrifice, & they were ESTATIC! On their way to finally building their forever home. The VERY next week Jocelyn came down with Covid , a pretty severe case of it. Adam kept working each day and coming home sleeping next to her, swearing off the illness. By the end of the week he came home looking terrible. A couple days later his oxygen was 82, Jocelyn took him to the ER. He was admitted immediately with 6 units of oxygen. He wouldn’t leave the hospital for 48 days. While in isolation, he became worse, maxed out on oxygen and full face bi pap with a 104 degree temp nearing 105. Dbl covid pneumonia had destroyed his lungs and they were failing him. Jocelyn was called at 5am to let her know they were putting him on a ventilator because they had no where else to go with oxygen, her heart sank as friends and family were dying around them daily it seemed. Unbeknownst to her at the same time 2 drs and 2 nurses were telling Adam they needed to vent him. He told them in Adam fashion through his full face maxed out bi pap to get the F out of his room that if he was going to die it would be on his own. He suffered terribly and fought so hard, eventually the fever broke and things slowly started to turn around but slow is an understatement. He kept telling Jocelyn he was coming home to build her that home. He did eventually come home on oxygen 48 days later and 40 pounds less. He didn’t build the home though. His astronomical medical bills outside of insurance even had wrecked everything, and that one week of debt free was a far distant memory. Something in Jocelyn’s brain was dialed in , she had to save her family. She wrote the book she’d always said she’d write, she got business and personal Development coaches, built an amazing network over the past 4 years and worked fiercely everyday to learn new skills, build a network, work on herself through personal Development, and level up her relationships. She was really dialed in. Several accomplishments along the way as they fought their way back the past 4 years, including securing a triplex as an investment property that they’ve been rehabbing since March. Jocelyn fought long and hard to lock up that deal. They had paid all the medical debt from Covid, all the credit cards from living on them for 6+ months, and now had a triplex to rehab. The forever home was coming back into their vision again. At the end of July, Adam became really sick again, this time it was his gallbladder, they thought no biggie we got this. What should have been a simple solution turned into again his body trying to kill him, and he became very ill in the hospital, when surgery finally happened a few days later, he had trouble after surgery stabilizing so he went to a step down unit. The surgeon said the gallbladder was gangrene, absolutely black, laying on the liver and she was unable to remove it laparoscopically. He came home with a 7” scar across his abdomen along with a drain tube. He was off work for 6 weeks. Just a bump they thought, we’ll be ok. Another bump came before that with suspected heart issues with Jocelyn, stress test, heart cath, 30-40% blockage in a tiny branch but all mains clear.
Little did most people know, Adam, Jocelyn, their son, and indoor animals had all had an array of different symptoms and illnesses for several years, they knew there was likely mold in their damp late 1800’s basement that they kept a dehumidifier running in non stop, but never imagined the damage it was actually slowing causing. They’ve always ran a whole house hepa filter air purifier, but mold spores release mycotoxins that are too small for even hepa. They would eventually find out after Jocelyn’s persistence that the mold was inside the walls, in the hvac, and verified in the basement. After a lot of testing they discovered they had mold mycotoxins in their bodies , no doubt the animals too who all also had various illness and symptoms.
Jocelyn had been progressively getting worse, not being able to eat much, without a reaction, severe and chronic silent reflux for many years that never got better, hair thinning and coming out by the handful, then in May she had her first severe reaction when her face and throat swelled. Things were somewhat calm the next couple of months just always dealing with the silent respiratory reflux when Labor Day weekend, her reaction was the most severe it’s ever been when her throat immediately swelled more than ever and her face as well. She went to urgent care and got an epi pen while she tried to piece this puzzle together. A couple days later ER, for dehydration, but she drinks water constantly. She had been running tests for awhile on herself through function health. Everything started to click, through testing and relentless research. Mold toxicity. It had been the cause of all her reflux and anxiety/panic attacks, food allergies/intolerances over the course of 33 years. That was her very first exposure 33 years ago. She became very ill at 18 years old after moving into her own place. H pylori was the diagnosis. She then began to have serious panic attacks daily. For years.
That Labor Day weekend attack, scared her so badly that she never stepped foot back into her home. She bought a new tent, new everything that she needed in the tent, and stayed in it in her yard for a week and a half. She then insisted they all get out of the house and immediately. They bought a 2026 travel trailer(she couldn’t risk anything used) and there they’ve lived in their driveway ever since. Jocelyn hasn’t been able to even leave the trailer without having severe reactions. The allergens outside cause throat swelling, itching and pins and needles head to toe, rashes, and hives. That’s in addition to her constant metallic taste in her mouth, her tongue and roof of mouth on fire, and her raw throat and larynx.
Shes only eaten free range chicken breast for over a solid month now daily because she’s afraid to eat anything else for fear of a reaction. Last week she reacted negatively to the mold/mycotoxin cleaning spray they were using to decontaminate clothes and things. (Though mycotoxins are not able to be seen, they’re a sticky substance that clings to any they touch.) One load of clothes came in the trailer and her throat swelled and mouth was on fire and skin itching severely with the pins and needles. That lasted 3 solid days until it began to let up A tiny bit. It was an all natural cleaner, but had citrus botanicals in it, and clearly she’s been having an abundance of histamine dumping and other chemicals possibly as well. Citrus is high histamine.
It is absolutely like they had a house fire and lost everything. They’ve had to buy new clothes, new everything, and Jocelyn can only have expensive organic hypoallergenic products And organic food.
She’s afraid to even try shampoo or conditioner and is washing her hair and body with a bar of dial soap because it’s all she knows is safe for her at the moment. A functional medicine dr is doing a severe case study on everything she submitted to him, he ordered other tests and he’s awaiting those results to complete his case review and come up with a game plan to hopefully end in time 33 years of suffering unknowingly to mold mycotoxins.
That’s all been just the past 4 years. Their dreams of building that forever home have diminished once again as they are completely tapped out now, with a lot of debt piling up again. Adam is working night and day, driving semi all day and at night working on either the triplex that the rehab funds are depleted on, or working to winterize the trailer or the little building they bought to house the new washer and dryer outside the travel trailer. He’s completely overwhelmed, as they all are.
As long as she’s been exposed, her toxic load is massive, she may also be one of 20 some percent of people who can’t properly detox toxics due to genetic mutations. They’re testing for everything. All the testing and treatment is out of pocket since western medicine hasn’t gotten up to speed yet with how to treat this illness so a functional practitioner it is.
Jocelyn was so excited to finally have everything paid off again and be ready for their refinance on the triplex , she was ESTATIC about their 807 credit scores and the rate they would no doubt get. That’s all gone.
In 5 short weeks that excitement has once again faded and is replaced with just wanting to be well , even if she has to live in a trailer forever she just wants the relentless daily symptoms to go away. She cries most days because it’s unbearable, and says she can’t do it anymore, and this is coming from the strongest woman i know. They have to get the triplex done, but also have to get ready for winter in a camper and doing laundry in a little building outside the camper. If the genetic mutations exist it means she likely has CIRS(chronic inflammatory response syndrome) and/or MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome) and those will be a lifelong management thing caused by the long term damage of the mycotoxins. The immune system gets deregulated and triggers for anything and everything, and commonly changes. Not a fun existence if that’s the case. She is still animate they’re building their forever home, one she’s had a picture of on her refrigerator for 10 years.
She doesn’t know how right now but she’s determined to beat this and prevail somehow, like she always does. She never quits, even when she wants to, she never does. She’s been building her sons future for years and it keeps getting pulled right out from underneath her but she starts again no matter how long or how hard she has to work, Adam is the same, He’s relentless as well, both illnesses he was back working long before he should have been.
They’re convinced everything they’ve experienced the past 10, 20, and 33 years has all been rooted in mold exposures and the mycotoxins that poison bodies. Adam has had terrible rashes all over his body since he came home from covid, just a couple weeks in the trailer and it’s all clearing. Gavin (their 16 year old son) coughed so hard every morning for years that they chalked up to allergies and it has now gone away. Their 11 year old dog that was given a death sentence is detoxing and not looking ill anymore. We just have to get Jocelyn well, she’s looking at ATLEAST 6-12 months of treatment and as long as she’s been exposed, likely the year or more. With ongoing re testing along the way.
All of this combined will put them in a much worse position than they were even with Adams covid fiasco that took 4 years of non stop grinding to recover from. Jocelyn’s birthday is October 11th, she asked me how she’s even going to enjoy her birthday being so miserable? When you leave exposure there’s something called Herxheimer reaction many have and it’s been brutal for her., for 5 weeks so far day in and day out. She’s had a wide range of reactions and symptoms. Things she didn’t have prior. Jocelyn has now learned the mycotoxins could also be the cause of the lipid issues, because mycotoxins not only attach to organs, they attach to lipids. Several of the mycotoxins are carcinogenic as well. Praying there’s no cancer lurking anywhere with any of them, though the dog was diagnosed with liver cancer.
So i put this together, & We should have 4 years ago idk why we didn’t but at the time we were just trying to save Adams life.
Now, hopefully we can all come together and make this birthday unforgettable for her while she’s suffering, as well as take the burden off of Adam while he prepares his family for a long cold winter, and works his full time job that he drives an hour to get to each day, and tries to keep pushing on the triplex “in his spare time “.
They deserve so much, they’ve always been the givers, they’ve given of themselves relentlessly no matter what, and they deserve to get back on track and build that forever home finally. I know Jocelyn has built one heck of a network with many being like family because she speaks of them all often in love. She cherishes these true relationships and the real she’s been so fortunate to have in them. I know for a fact many are daily go to’s. Help me help them?
This is going to be a long road to recovery, help me ease this burden for them so they can focus on staying warm this winter and her treatment?
They’re humble people and do not like asking for help, they just do everything themselves always, but after watching the struggle the past 4 years, I had to intervene and do something to try to help. I’ve seen crowdfunding change lives, and I’m confident we can change theirs. Prayers are needed & appreciated and please continue to share this until we reach the goal.
Thank you in advance and God Bless
