About this fundraiser

i tragically became disable after surgeries reaching out because I am desperately trying to find stable housing for my family. I lost my mother when I was 17 years old and became responsible for everything at a very young age. Since I was 18, I have always worked hard to support my family, pay bills, maintain vehicles, and provide for my children. I have always found a way to make things work until my health recently declined. In May of 2024, I had spinal surgery. Within 30 days the surgery failed, and I needed another procedure. Shortly after that I developed a serious bone infection which required additional surgery. In October 2025 I had another spinal fusion surgery. Because of these complications I now have severe mobility issues and chronic pain. I cannot stand or move for long periods of time and my health has significantly declined. I have been diagnosed with several medical conditions including severe depression, anxiety, and chronic pain, among other health issues. Despite all of this, my main focus is still my children and making sure they have a safe and stable place to live. My youngest daughter is autistic and requires extra care and stability. Since my health declined, I have lost nearly everything and have been trying to navigate housing resources on my own. I have contacted 211, 311, churches, and housing programs and even reached out to the mayor’s office, but I have not been able to secure housing. Many programs say I either do not make enough income or I do not meet certain requirements. Right now my children and I are at serious risk of becoming homeless. We have been bouncing from place to place and it is not sustainable. I am simply a mother trying to heal, regain my health, and provide a stable home for my children. I am asking for any help, guidance, or housing resources that could assist my family in securing a safe place to live. Any support or direction would mean everything to us. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any help you may be able to provide. Sincerely, Nina Suarez
