Hello my name is Corrin and the cat you see in the picture is Cali. She is 19 years and was recently diagnosed with a tumor under her tongue on 7/14/2025. The tumor has made it incredibly hard for her to eat and drink properly without pain management. I know that based off her age most people would opt to euthanize their animals because they wouldn't want to spend the money on an animal that is as old as her. However, besides the tumor in her mouth she is still in perfect health and still wants to eat and drink even though it is difficult for her at the moment. Even without the pain medications she is still so full of life and not at all lethargic, or ready to ride the rainbow road, in any way. She is just hungry and in pain which is currently reducing her quality of life. My Vet's office ran labs and a physical on her and determined that she would be a good candidate for the removal of the tumor under her tongue since it doesn't seem to be growing any bigger and there haven't been any notable growths on other parts of her body. I have scheduled an appointment for Cali to be seen at OSU's oncology department to see what else can be done for her, if there is anything that can be done (They seemed optimistic that there is).

Overall, Cali has been with me since she was born, she came from one of the litters my mom's cat (Shelby) had back in May 2006. At one point while I was in high school my mom and I were without a place to go and had to move in with my Great-Aunt for the duration on my high school years. During that time Cali was not aloud to live with us because my Aunt is allergic to cats. My bestfriend ended up taking her in and care for her for the 3 years I had left in school. During that time I believe Cali never gave up hope that I would come back for her, as she would stare out the window towards the driveway where she saw me last, so I was told. Since then she has never left my side and I know I've given her the best life for the last 19 years, but I only wish to give her back her ability to eat and drink to improve her quality of life. I can't bring myself to euthanize her when she, herself, is still fighting to survive. I wont give up on her and It would mean EVERYTHING and the WORLD if you could help me give her that opportunity!

I am reaching out on GIVE A HAND because I am currently quite strapped for money as I just got done fixing my car to make it drivable again and haven't quite financially recovered from that.

If you've made it this far I would like to Thank You for taking the time to read Cali's story!
