I’ve never been the one to ask for help but I am having a high risk pregnancy working two jobs, my mother is disabled and cannot work and doesn’t get much on her disability check. She makes about $15 over the amount to be able to be approved for Medicaid. We are on the waitlist for almost a year now for the Medicaid waiver which would had allowed her meds to be free and also help me with income taking care of her. So we are paying for everything out of pocket and my mom takes about 25 medications a day! Over $700 a month. my mother was a work aholic before all of this and gave almost her entire life to any job she worked for. My mother has been very ill ever since she went septic in 2023 from an infection and the hospital was able to save her. My mom also deals with other health issues that aren’t able to be taken care of right now because of health insurance issues that we have no control over. My mom is now in critical unit in the hospital as of today and they are doing everything they can to help her but She has no balance and her speech is slurred. No stroke but it’s something more serious as it’s eating away at all her nerves in her body. We don’t qualify for any food stamps or any assistance at all. Ive been applying for another job that pays better so I can stop working two jobs but ive only had interviews and no offers so far. Please please please help us so we do not lose our home while my mom is in the hospital and I still try to have a healthy pregnancy working two jobs and still running to hospital to help take care of my mom. I am her only child and doing everything I can and she is the only mother I have and I cannot lose her because of state putting everyone on a waitlist to get help!!! Our health care system is a joke! please Help! anything can make a difference for us!!
